Quadruple threats: celebrities with EGOT status

An EGOT winner is a multi-talented celebrity who has been awarded an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (or multiples). It's quite the status, and fortunately the list continues to grow. Viola Davis has earned the final jewel in her EGOT crown at the 2023 Grammys where she took home the trophy for Best Audio Book, Narration and Storytelling Recording for 'Finding Me: A Memoir.' "I wrote this book to honour the six-year-old Viola," Davis said in her speech. "To honour her life, her joy, her trauma, everything." She is the 18th person to ever win the stunning achievement, and only the third Black woman in history. She previously won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for 'Fences,' an Emmy for her work on 'How To Get Away With Murder,' and she has two Tony Awards for her theater work in the plays 'King Hedley II' (2001) and 'Fences' (2010). "I just EGOT!" the famed actress remarked upon her Grammy win. Check out this gallery and take a look back at superstars of past and present who made Hollywood history across all the major award shows.

The Most Anticipated Netflix Original Movies of 2023

With Chris Hemsworth, Pamela Anderson, and Adam Sandler on the docket, buckle up—it’s going to be a big year for you and your couch. Attention movie theater lovers: I hate to say it, but 2023 might be the year of Netflix. The streamer just dropped a trailer for its upcoming releases, and it looks like Netflix has quite a few surprises up its sleeve. As usual, the streaming service will also release loads of new television series too, but Netflix seems hellbent on rounding out their original films. Is the streamer returning to its roots? After all, Netflix was originally a movie-delivery service—and after obliterating Blockbuster, not once, but twice, this is the least it could do. Moving on. This year, Netflix will offer its subscribers a host of new films, hailing from every genre imaginable. The early offerings include the tell-all documentary, Pamela, A Love Story, along with the delightful looking rom-com, Your Place or Mine, and (hopefully!) more time in the bunker with Chris Hemsworth in Extraction 2. So buckle up — it’s going to be a big year for you and your couch. To make the selection process easier, dear reader, Esquire has parsed through the streamers upcoming releases and curated a list of what should be on your watchlist.
