In honour of Black Music Month, the National Music Centre is hosting a celebration with free admission all day at Studio Bell, and a lineup of activities curated by MuchMusic legend Master T. The event will spotlight the creativity, expression and heritage of Black music and culture. Neo-soul collective The Rondel Roberts Band will headline.

The Inglewood Night Market features over 140 rotating local vendors selling homemade crafts, vintage clothing, artisan eats and more. There will also be live music and alcoholic beverages. Kids and pets are welcome.

The week leading up to National Aboriginal Day on June 21 is recognized locally as Aboriginal Awareness Week Calgary. The Family Day and Pow wow celebration begins the week with an arts and crafts market, a children’s corner, a hand game tournament and more.

The Calgary Zoo’s newest art installation, Washed Ashore, is made up of 15 pieces depicting marine wildlife made entirely of debris collected from Pacific Ocean beaches. The sculptures will be temporarily installed throughout the zoo in both indoor and outdoor locations. Viewing is included with daily admission.

Enjoy one of several concerts at Spruce Meadows in June, including Dean Brody, City & Colour and Metric. Tickets to the shows includes full-day access to weekend activities including show jumping, food trucks, movie nights, a kids zone and more. Tickets for Epic Weekends can be purchased separately from concert tickets.

Each Sunday in June, The Confluence is hosting a Family Fun Hour for kids up to age 11. The theme for June is gardens; explore something new each week with hands-on activities on offer. Admission into The Confluence Cultural Centre is included in the ticket price.

When: Sundays in June: 1 to 2 p.m.
Cost: $15 per adult, $5 per child
Meet newborn baby animals and explore attractions at Calgary Farmyard this spring. Visitors can also enjoy freshly planted fields and a variety of food and beverages, including fairground classics like mini donuts, kettle corn and turkey legs.
